The product manager and product designer came to me with a proposal for a flow to recover the debt associated with ‘Linked Fees’ - an internal term used to describe additional charges for services like carsharing, electric scooter hire or other ‘self-driven’ transport options. These charges are typically applied after an initial payment due to things like damage, speeding fines, or criminal activity. The business was losing around 200k annually due to non-payment of these fees.
